How to Adjust Door Hinges

In this tutorial, we look at how to adjust the doors to line up properly after the installation. Often, cabinet doors can be warped, and the space between the two doors can be uneven at the top and bottom.

With six-way adjustable hinges installed on all Kitchen Cubes’ cabinets, you can solve spacing and warping problems. All adjustments can be made simply with a Philips head screwdriver. The first adjustment allows a door to move up and down. The second adjustment allows a door to move left or right. The third adjustment allows the door to move in or out from the frame.

By making adjustments to the top and bottom hinges, the door should sit flush against the cabinet, and the space between the two doors should be even on both the top and the bottom.

In this tutorial, we look at how to install a base blind cabinet. For this example, we are installing a bas blind 36” x 39”. The actual dimension of the cabinet is 27” wide. For this particular cabinet, the cabinet must be pulled away from the wall at a minimum of 36”, but can be pulled to a maximum of 39”.

If there is an adjacent cabinet, we recommend putting a filler between the blind and the base cabinet so the drawer can open properly. This filler is a must if you plan on installing decorative hardware on the cabinets.

Kitchen Cubes offers three blind base cabinets. It’s important to note that some of the cabinets’ widths are smaller than the space they will actually take up in a kitchen floor plan. This is because the space required for the blind cabinets to be pulled away from the wall for the drawers and cabinets to function properly is small.
